Tring-Albania

Previously Tring was part of Albanian Satellite Communications (ASC or Tring Communications), which was founded in 2006 by Artan Dulaku. As the company's operations grew,[6] ASC focused on satellite platform and spun off services on IP and Digital technology, giving birth to another company: Tring TV (Tring Digital).

Tring is an Albanian company which operates in:

  • distribution of TV content through terrestrial, satellite[1][2] and cable signal in Albania and IPTV worldwide (My Tring IPTV)[3]
  • broadband services of Internet, Telephony in Albania[4][5]

In August 2014, these two companies decided to change their brands and logos, unifying under the unique brand TRING.

On January 11, 2010, Tring signed a contract with RTV 21, followed by several subsidiary appendixes after the above mentioned date, in which was stated: “By means of internet protocols (IP) of the networks would be possible the signal and network distribution of RTV 21 for all the subscribers of Tring.

Timeline

2008

  • Registered on 16 September 2008, Tring had its headquarters in Tirana, Albania.
  • Tring joins the market of pay television platforms[7]

2010

  • In August 2010 Tring TV started broadcasting Sports Channels
  • Also in August Tring Communications taps Alcatel-Lucent for satellite TV over DSL[8]
  • In September, Tring Communications picks Juniper Networks as a subscriber management and security solution[9]

2011

  • Tring launches the second season of Dancing With the Stars Albania show[10]

2012

  • In October Eutelsat's Skylogic affiliate teams up with Tring Communications, to equip schools and post offices with the Tooway broadband service powered by the KA-SAT satellite.[11]

2013

  • Tring upgraded the transmission format of its content from MPEG 2 to MPEG 4 on the terrestrial platform.

2014

  • Tring upgraded the transmission format of its contents from MPEG 2 to MPEG 4 on the satellite platform.[12]
  • Tring launches My Tring IPTV, an IPTV system which delivers the Tring TV television contents using the Internet protocol suite over a packet-switched network such as a LAN or the Internet, instead of being delivered through traditional terrestrial, satellite signal, or cable television formats.

2016

  • Tring TV upgraded its playout infrastructure to a combination of PlayBox Technology Neo servers and CloudAir online services[13][14]
  • In April Tring secures the rights to transmit Dinosaur Train, Doozers and Sid the Science Kid from Jim Henson Company[15]
  • In September Tring begins transmitting the "Dashuri me qira" TV series (Turk. "Kiralik Ask" , eng. "Love for Rent")[16]

2017

  • Tring secures the rights to transmit Jetë (Turkish: Hayat)[17][18]
  • In July Tring begins transmitting the "Nusja nga Stambolli" TV series (Turk. "Istanbullu Gelin" , eng. "Evermore")[19][20]
  • In September Tring began the process of transition to digital broadcasting[21]
