Trent Harris (American football)

Trent Harris is an American football outside linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Miami.

College career

Harris played four seasons for the Miami Hurricanes. He finished his collegiate career with 126 tackles (26 for loss) with 15 sacks, three passes defended, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.[1]

Professional career

New England Patriots

Harris signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018.[2] He was cut at the end of training camp but was re-signed to the Patriots practice squad on September 2, 2018.[3] He spent the 2018 season on the Patriots practice squad and was cut the following season at the end of training camp.[4]

Miami Dolphins

Harris was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins on September 1, 2019.[5] He made his NFL debut on September 22, 2019 against the Dallas Cowboys, making one tackle in a 31-6 loss.[6] In week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Harris recorded a strip sack on Andy Dalton which was recovered by teammate Andrew Van Ginkel during the 38–35 overtime win.[7]

On March 12, 2020, Harris was assigned a one-year, $585,000 tender by the Dolphins.[8] He signed the tender on April 22, 2020.[9]
