The Royal Gazette is a Bermudian English-language daily newspaper. Founded in 1828, it is Bermuda's only daily newspaper (not published on Sundays and public holidays).

Circulation, administration and ownership

With an average daily circulation 14,578 copies (last audited November 2007), (probably around 6,00 copies daily now 2018) the newspaper says it reaches around 97 percent of the adult population (per mindmaps March 2013 media survey).

It is 100% owned by The Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. The Bermuda Press (Holdings) Limited is a publicly traded company on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Dexter Smith has served as the Editor since 2015.[1]

Content

The sports section devotes extensive coverage to Bermuda's cricket and football (soccer) teams, along with reports of English football and occasional wire stories on American football and baseball. The Saturday religion section has a large number of church advertisements, along with news accounts of church programmes and issues.

Former sister publication

When The Royal Gazette's sister paper, the weekly Mid-Ocean News, ceased publication in October 2009, its full-colour comics section and magazine-style television guide insert became Royal Gazette features.[2]
