The current headteacher is Mr Stephen Campbell, whom replaced Mr Mark Jackson, who was appointed headteacher of Haslingden High School in March 2011.[2] Mr Jackson took over from his predecessor, Mr Frank Havard, in September 2004. Mr Havard took over as headteacher in 1994, after being deputy headteacher for five years.[3]

In June 2016, the school was recognised for 'exceptional' progress in GCSEs for the second year running.[4]

In the years 2015 and 2016, a group of pupils from the school, took part in a large project called "Beyond Labels: In Young Men's Shoes" which saw a release of a coffee book and album. In February 2017, the project was nominated, and later won a SLYNC Award in the category Young Artists Of the Year.[5]

On 13 May 2017, they were also nominated for a Fusion Award, in the Youth Leadership Category.[6] The project was also named Film of the Month by Into Film, who work with BAFTA.[7] The school also saw a visit from children's author Tom Palmer in April 2017.[8]
