The Anthropocene Reviewed
The Anthropocene Reviewed is a podcast hosted by author and YouTube personality John Green in which he reviews different facets of the Anthropocene, the epoch that includes significant human impact on the environment, on a five-star scale. This can include completely artificial products like Diet Dr. Pepper, natural species that have had their fates altered by human influence like the Canada goose, or phenomena that only influence humanity such as Halley's Comet. Each episode is released monthly and typically contains Green reviewing two topics,[1][2] accompanied by stories on how they have impacted Green's own life.[3]

History
The podcast's first episode was released on January 29, 2018. In a November 2018 interview, Green reflected that The Anthropocene Reviewed was "...an opportunity for me to get back to my roots. With the podcast, I want to pay careful and sustained attention to the world around me, and that’s something I often feel like I don’t do, especially when I’m on the internet."[4] It is produced by WNYC Studios and Complexly.[5]
The Lascaux Paintings essay from episode 6 was adapted into an animated visualization by the German YouTube channel Kurzgesagt in May 2020.[6]
