Connections to The Dino King

The documentary features stock footage of Haenamichnus flying during the opening scene from Han Sang-Ho's similar film The Dino King. The design of Patch is inspired by the design of Speckles from The Dino King, while both this documentary and The Dino King are set 80 million years ago in Late Cretaceous South Korea, while greatly hinting that Patch's mate is Speckles' mother in The Dino King (as they greatly resemble each other). Just like Speckles, Patch also has encounters with Pukyongosaurus, Haenamichnus, Velociraptors, and a Therizinosaurus, during his early life, and suffers tragedy throughout his life in the form of being the only one of his siblings to live to adulthood.
