Sunil Kothari

Sunil Kothari is a noted Indian dance historian, scholar and critic. He is also former Uday Shankar Professor at Ravindra Bharti University, Kolkata.[1]

Career

He completed M. A. in 1964 and PhD in 1977. Professionally, Sunil Kothari is a chartered accountant. He started his career with The Times of India. He freelances now as a writer. Currently he lives in Asian Games Village in Delhi.[2][3]

Awards

He received Padma Shri award in 2001.[4] He also received Sangeet Natak Akademi award in 1995 for overall contribution to the Indian classical dance. He was awarded Kumar Chandrak in 1961 and Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak in 2012.[2][3]
