Geography
The resort town of Sulzbach an der Murr is in the Murr Valley at an elevation of 268 to 520 meters.
A description of the town of Sulzbach an der Murr in the Oberamt from 1871 reads:
- "Where the graceful, bright green Murr Valley is considerably widened by the confluence of the Lauter [tributary] approaching to the southwest and Fischbachtälchen coming directly from the North, lies in the proud poplar stands picturesque valley occupied the great urban-looking place...."
Sulzbach is located about 40 km northeast of Stuttgart in the middle of the Nature Park Swabian-Franconian Forest between the Löwenstein Mountains and the Murrhardter Forest.
