It is a voluntary aided school that is supported by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. The school was previously a specialist Arts College and continues to offer the arts as a specialism.[3]
The school offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A Levels and further BTECs.
In February 2019, Bridget Morris succeeded Jeremy Harris as headteacher, the school's logo was changed.
In the summer of 2019, the schools main building was painted white with the school badge being put onto the windows facing Axletree Way.
