Strasbourg Crucifixion

Strasbourg Crucifixion is a painting in tempera and gold on panel of c.1320 attributed to Giotto in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Strasbourg. It probably formed a diptych with the Madonna Enthroned between the Virtues (Wildenstein Collection, New York), attributed to the Master of the Sails.[1]

History

Previously attributed to the School of Giotto, Roberto Longhi attributed it to the master himself in 1948.[2]
