The city bought the property out of foreclosure for $230,000 in September 2006.[3] Redevelopment was delayed.[4] It was named an endangered place by the D.C. Preservation League in 2007.[5] It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 25, 2008. In 2010, developers received approval of a plan for redevelopment, of the theater, by the Board of Zoning Appeals.[6]
