Stephen Black

Stephen Black (born 5 April 1980) is an Australian former professional basketball player who played 11 seasons in the NBL. He is the son of Alan Black. In 2010, he coached the South West Metro Pirates of the Queensland Basketball League.[1]

Born in Melbourne, Victoria, he attended the Australian Institute of Sport in 1998.[2] He made his debut for the Perth Wildcats in October 1998 where he played for five years, before joining the Brisbane Bullets in 2003. He joined the Cairns Taipans in 2007, retiring at the end of the 2008–09 NBL season having played 298 NBL games.[3]

On 19 April 2016, Black was appointed head coach of the Willetton Tigers, replacing his father Alan who resigned from the role.[4]
