South-Eastern Sydney

South-Eastern Sydney is the metropolitan area directly to the south and east of the Sydney central business district in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The area stretches from the inner city to the foreshores of Botany Bay. It includes suburbs within the local government areas of City of Sydney, Bayside Council and Randwick and falls approximately within the Federal Division of Kingsford Smith. Politically at both state and federal levels South-Eastern Sydney (despite the areas relative affluence) is a stronghold for the Australian Labor Party, not including the Sutherland Shire which is not technically a part of the official South East but is regarded as so by majority of Sydneysiders.

The Eastern Distributor provides access from the northern part of the Sydney CBD to the south eastern suburbs.[1]
