Simon Middleton

Simon Middleton (born 2 February 1966) is an English former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s, and has coached rugby union in the 2010s. He played club level rugby union (RU) for Knottingley RUFC (in Knottingley, Wakefield), and club level rugby league (RL) for Castleford, as a wing.[4][5][6]

Middleton has three children. Sons, Joe and Alfie and daughter, Laura.



Playing career

Regal Trophy Final appearances

Middleton played left wing, i.e. number 5, in Castleford's 33-2 victory over Wigan in the 1993–94 Regal Trophy Final during the 1993–94 season at Headingley Rugby Stadium, Leeds on Saturday 22 January 1994.[7]

Coaching career

As of 2015, Middleton is the head coach for both the England women's sevens (RU) and the England women's national rugby union team (RU).[8][9][10]
