Sibbinda Constituency

Sibbinda Constituency, also: Sibinda Constituency, is an electoral constituency in the Zambezi Region of Namibia. It is situated in the Caprivi Strip and is regularly affected by floods of the Zambezi River. The district capital is the village of Sibbinda. The constituency's population is 9,164.[1]

Politics

The councillor is Ignatius Chunga of SWAPO Party who won a 2012 constituency by-election that was scheduled after the previous councillor Felix Mukupe died in a car accident.[2] Chunga was reelected in the 2015 regional election with 1,924 votes, followed by Luseso Parry Malumbano of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA) with 322 votes and of the Lister Limbo Sabuta Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) with 314 votes.[3]
