Seyed Ali Jaberi

Jaberi was born in Kermanshah, Iran. When he was 7 years encouraged to start learning tanbur. with the help of Amrollah Shah Ebrahimi and Dervish Amir Hayati[3] and he continued learning it.[4] After a while, under the observation of Ebrahim Sepehri and Hossein Alizadeh, he learned to play setar. Also, He learned music theory by Mohammad-Reza Lotfi and Keikhosrow Pournazeri.[5]

Jaberi has been tanbur performing in Iran, North America, Europe and Asia. He gained his first professional experience in Asia with the Min-on Orchestra in Japan at the tender age of 20. Two years later, Jaberi was awarded the accolade of Best Tanbur Player in Iran. He has also been the conductor and tanburist in the Iranian National Orchestra.[6][7]

In 1993, Jaberi performed at the Min-on Contemporary Music Festival in 14 city in Japan.[6][7]

In 1994, Jaberi gained the first place in playing tanbur in Fajr International Music Festival when he was the leader of "Seyed Ali Khan" band.[8][9] Then he joined different musical bands to perform in Europe and Africa.[10]

In 2005, Jaberi, performed at International Sufi Festival India.[6][7]

In 2007, by cooperation with the Hamdel Ensemble, He had performances in Tunisia that they were invited to participate in the International Festival of Carthage.[9]

In 2007, the music band named "Shams & Rumi" started to perform in Denmark, Switzerland, and Netherlands that Seyed Ali Jaberi took the responsibility of composing and the leadership of the band.[11]

In 2008, from the Iranian Museum of Music, the Hamdel Ensemble performed at the opening ceremony of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Musical Instruments Museum, Rome.[12]

From February 9 to 15, 2009, the Hamdel Ensemble performed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia that Jaberi took the responsibility of composing and the leadership of the band.[13]

From March 18 to 27, 2010, the Hamdel Ensemble performed in Italy, Germany, and Austria which some pieces composed by Sina Sarlak and others.[14]

From 2015 to 2018, Seyed Ali has performed in 60 international concerts including performances with British singer-songwriter, Sami Yusuf (known as British star in the Middle East) and renowned Iranian singer, Sina Sarlak who performed alongside Seyed Ali and the Hamdel Ensemble at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017.[15]

In 2018, Seyed Ali has performed at the Mawazine Festival in Morocco with Sami Yusuf.[16]

On February 17, 2019, Shahram Nazeri performed the "Language of Love" concert at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in collaboration with Seyed Ali Jaberi and the Hamdel Ensemble. The "All because of Love" concert was performed in Manchester (Refugee Week), Bristol, Edinburgh (Edinburgh Festival Fringe), Birmingham (Symphony Hall), Sheffield (Immigrant's Festival), and Gateshead.[17]

On February 19, 2019, Shahram Nazeri, in cooperation with Seyed Ali Jaberi and other members of Mana Ensemble performed at Holywell Music Room, Wadham College of University of Oxford in the United Kingdom in the ceremony of "Language of Love" project, to introduce the capacity of Persian poems, Persian literature, and the popular Iranian poets and their influence on expanding the conception of love and peace, with the invitation of University of Oxford as the host.[18] One of the biggest significances of this performance was performing no voice facility or sound system at Holywell Music Room which was constructed more than 270 years ago for the concerts in England. Therefore there all of the things which were used were only natural voice and that was the attention sweet center of the media.[19][20]
