The Serie B 10 teams competes in one group. Since 2018–19 season, it is one long tournament (playing each other home & away). Top 8 teams from group at end of season will play for promotion to Liga Premier – Serie A and the stadium must met the requirements to promote as well.

Offseason Changes
- Chapulineros de Oaxaca will decline their Serie B participation for 2020–21 season to participate in the Liga de Balompié Mexicano after one year return from hiatus.[3]
- Zacatecas Premier has dissolved.
- Calor will be on hiatus for 2020–21 season, will return the following season.
- La Paz will leave Serie B to participate in Serie A as an Expansion Team.
