Competition Format
The season has 26 game days (or weeks) and is played as a Round-robin tournament. At th end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs, where a best-of-three system is used. At the end of the season, the bottom two finishers are automatically relegated to the second level of the Italian league system, the Serie A2.
