Scotiabank Convention Centre
Scotiabank Convention Centre, also known colloquially as SCCN, is a convention centre located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, along Stanley Avenue and Dunn Street. At 300,000 square feet, it is the largest meetings and events facility in the Niagara region.[1]

History
Talk of building a convention centre to complement Niagara Falls' booming tourism industry had been ongoing for 30 years. Finally, in 2007, a public-private partnership was formed to fund the project. Both the federal and provincial governments contributed $35 million each, and the remaining one-third commitment came from private investors. The Regional Municipality of Niagara provided the lease of land on which the facility was built for a nominal fee of $1 per year.[2][3]
Construction on the two-storey building began on May 1, 2009, by Bondfield Construction Co. Ltd., along with MHPM Project Managers Inc., from a design by CS&P Architects Inc., Stanford Downey Architects Inc., and The Kirkland Partnership Architects.[4][5] The halfway point of construction was marked by a ceremony on April 30, 2010, to congratulate workers for keeping construction on schedule and budget.[6]
Following a lengthy and competitive review process, Centerplate was awarded a long-term contract for food and beverage operations.[7] Celebrity chef Anna Olson joined them shortly thereafter to devise menus and other food-related elements at the convention centre.[8]
On November 16, 2010, Niagara Convention & Civic Centre (NCCC) announced that Scotiabank acquired the naming rights to the facility.[9]
Notable events
In December 2017, the Linus Hand Productions company performed The Little Mermaid at the convention centre.[10][11] The same production company performed Beauty and the Beast in December 2018.[12][13]
On September 12 to September 14, 2019, the annual Grow Up Cannabis Conference and Expo was held at the convention centre, with an estimated 5,000 people in attendance.[14]
On June 15 and June 16, 2020, the convention centre will host the 17th Hockey Canada Foundation Gala & Golf event.[15][16]
