Savoy Cinema, Colombo

Savoy Cinema, Colombo also known as Savoy 3D Cinema and Savoy 2 is a prominent cinema in Sri Lanka located on Galle Road in Wellawatte, Colombo, just near the old Dutch canal.[1][2] The building is owned and run by EAP Films and Theatres Private Limited.[3][4] The theatre generally have premier releases in four languages including English, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi languages.[5]

On 24 April 2019, a suspicious motorbike was exploded by Sri Lankan police officials under control with no damages and no casualties were reported which was found near the Savoy Theatre during the raids.[6][7][8] The particular suspected vehicle was found during the raids across the country following the Easter bombings on 21 April 2019 which killed nearly 300 people.[9]
