Salo (instrument)
The salo or saw lo (Thai: สะล้อ) is a Thai spiked-fiddle with three strings (strung on 2-pegs), native to Lan Na in the north.

Saw lo (สะล้อ), rear view, showing the sound hole and the neck of the instrument going through the sound-box, a feature of the larger spiked-lute family.
Strung today with 3 wires for strings, but formerly had silk strings.[1]
