Roberts Covered Bridge

The Roberts Covered Bridge, in Preble County, Ohio near Eaton Ohio, was built in 1829. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.[1]

It spanned Seven Mile Creek and was located three miles south of Eaton [2] at original location 39°42′41″N 84°37′15″W.

It now rests in a city park in southwestern Eaton, over Seven Mile Creek[3][4] at 39.740437°N 84.638759°W / 39.740437; -84.638759 (Roberts Covered Bridge (current location)). This is north, downstream along the same creek, from the original location.

It is claimed to be the oldest covered bridge in Ohio, the second oldest covered bridge in the United States, and the oldest of the six remaining "double-barreled" covered bridges in the United States.[5] After being vandalized and heavily damaged by a fire in 1986, it was restored and moved from its original location[3] 3 miles south of Eaton over Seven Mile Creek.[1] It currently sits about 150 feet north of the St. Clair Street Bridge, also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It is closed to traffic.[6]
