Plot

The film follows the rebuild of Paradise, California, following the 2018 California wildfires.

Production

In January 2019, it was announced Ron Howard would direct the film and serve as a producer under his Imagine Entertainment banner, with National Geographic Documentary Films distributing.[2]

Release

The film had its world premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.[3] It was set to screen at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 15, 2020, however, the festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4][5][6] It is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2020.[7]

Critical reception

Rebuilding Paradise holds a 80% approval rating on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, based on 5 reviews, with a weighted average of 8/10.[8]
