Qoryoley

Qoryoley (Somali: Qoryooley, Arabic: قوريولي) is a city in southern Somalia. It is located in the Lower Shebelle (Shabeellaha Hoose) region. The population of the Qoryooley district is 62,700.

History

In 2018 a Somali government position in Qoryoley was attacked by Al-Shabab militants, resulting in the deaths of two militants.[1]

Demographics

Qoryoley has a population of around 62,700.[2] The broader Qoriyoley District has a total population of 134,205.[3] It is mainly inhabited by the Jiddu and Garre clan and also Samatalis sub clans of the Xawaadle [4]
