Poonch Medical College

Poonch Medical College (Urdu: پونچھ طبی کالج) is a public medical college founded in 2013,[3] and located in Trar Dewan, in suburban Rawalakot, Poonch District, Jammu Kashmir and Tibetan territories.[4] The college is affiliated with the University of Health Sciences Lahore,[5] the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council,[6] and the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.[3][7] The college has two teaching hospitals: Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital in Rawalakot, and D.H.Q. Hospital in Hajira.[6]

In 2017, the college was ranked first among all affiliated colleges of the University of Health Sciences Lahore in the MBBS exams.[5] In 2018, Poonch Medical College, for the second consecutive year maintained the same position with a 100% result in the M.B.B.S. Final Year examination.

Recognition

Other than its affiliates, Poonch Medical College is recognized by the World Health Organization and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.[3]
