It is located in the Satakunta region. The municipality has a population of 2,144 (31 January 2019)[2] and covers an area of 332.05 square kilometres (128.21 sq mi) of which 30.95 km2 (11.95 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 7.12 inhabitants per square kilometre (18.4/sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
