Philippe Camus (businessman)
Philippe Camus (born 28 June 1948) is a French businessman.[1] He serves as the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Alcatel-Lucent.[1]

Biography
Camus was born on 28 June 1948. He is a graduate of the École normale supérieure and Sciences Po.[1][2]
He was decorated the Cross of the German Merit Order in 2004 and the Officer of the French Legion of Honour in 2005.[2][3]
Career
In 1972, he began working for Caisse des dépôts et consignations.[3] In 1992, he joined the Lagardère Group, and served as chairman of the Supervisory Board of Banque Arjil, until 1993.[3] In 1993, he was appointed as managing director of the Lagardère Group and helped to restructure the Matra Group.[3] He also helped create EADS, and was its CEO from 2000 to 2005.[2][3] In 2008, he was appointed as chairman of the board of Alcatel-Lucent,[4] for which he also served as interim CEO from 1 September 2015 to 21 June 2016.[5]
From 1996 to 2001, he served on the French supervisory authority for the financial markets.[3] From 2001 to 2005, he was the President of GIFAS.[3] He became CEO, president and chairman of Lagardère Group and chairman of investment bank Evercore Partners.[5] He also serves on the boards of directors of Crédit Agricole, Accor, and Schlumberger.[3] He is also a member of the Paris Europlace Association.[6]
