Pavuluri Mallana

Pavuluri Mallana, who followed Adikavi Nannaya, was a mathematician of the 11th century. He was a contemporary of King Rajaraja Narendra (1022–1063 AD). He translated Ganitasara Samgraham, a mathematical treatise of Mahaviracharya, into Telugu as Sara Sangraha Ganitamu.[1] He also wrote Bhadradri Rama Satakamu published by Vavilla Ramaswamy Sastrulu and Sons in 1916.[2]

Rajaraja Narendra has donated Navakhandavada agraharam near Pithapuram named Mallana. His grandson, also named Mallana, was a famous writer. Pavuluru village is in Parchuru Mandal of Prakasam district.
