Omid Tayeri

Omid Tayeri (Persian: امید طیری‎, born 6 March 1973) is an Iranian professional football manager and former player. He managed several Iranian teams such as PAS Hamedan and Esteghlal and etc.

He has "A" and "B" coaching certification from Asian Football Confederation.

Coaching career

Omid Tayeri is one of the coaches who has worked in various teams so far. The following are some of the teams in which he has coaching or head coaching.

2004-05: Sanat Naft Abadan

He has worked as an assistant coach in Azadegan League for two season from 2004 to 2006 with Turkmen coach, Baýram Durdyýew.[1]Under his coaching, Sanat Naft could advance to second round of Azadegan League play-off in 2004-05 season.

2006-07: Saba Battery

He also coached Saba Battery (later renamed to Saba Qom) alongside Mohammad Hossein Ziaei from 2006 to 2007[2] and he won the runner-up spot that season.

2007: Esteghlal U-23

He was also the head coach of Esteghlal U-23 team in Iran's football youth first division on 2007.

2007-08: Sanat Mes Kerman

From 2007 to 2008 he coached Sanat Mes Kerman alongside of Amir Ghalenoei at Iran's Pro League.[3]

2008-09: Esteghlal Tehran

After a year of coaching in Mes Kerman, Ghalenoei became the head coach of Esteghlal in 2008 and decided to have Tayeri as an assistant coach.

2009-10: Esteghlal Qazvin

He the went to Iran's League 2 and took over as head coach of Esteghlal Qazvin and ranked third in Group D of 2009–10 Iran 2nd Division.

2010-11: Esteghlal Jonoub Tehran

After a year, Tayeri went to Esteghlal Jonoub Tehran and became the head coach of it and succeeded to promote Esteghlal Jonoub from League 2 to Azadegan League.

2011-12: Shirin Faraz Kermanshah

In 2011, Majid Aghajeri resigned as head coach at the end of the tenth week of the first league. After this, the club officials selected Omid Tayeri as head coach until the end of the season.[4]

2012: Iran's Students' National Team

Tayeri in 2012 by order of Dr. Ghadimi, President of Iran's Interuniversity Committee, appointed as head coach of Iran's Students' football national team. He chose Behnam Taherzadeh and Amir Kavoosi as his assistant coaches.[5]Iran's Students' national team, under managing of Tayeri became the champion of this tournament.

2012-13: Pas Hamedan

The championship in World Interunivesity Games in Belgrade brought a lot of credit to Tayeri. PAS Hamedan officials after the resignation of former head coach Vinko Begović, negotiations were made with a number of options to replace him, and eventually Omid Tayeri was appointed as the team's manager until the end of the season.[6][7][8][9]
