Nicolás Galvis

Nicolás Galvis (born 9 April 1997) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays for Valour FC, as a midfielder.

Early and personal life

Galvis was born in Bogotá, Colombia and lived with his family in Manizales until the age of seven, when they moved to St. Catharines, Canada.[2]

Club career

Galvis played youth football for Once Caldas between the ages of five and seven, and with St. Catharines Concord from the age of seven.[2] In April 2013 he and two teammates (including Adam Bouchard) left Oakville SC to sign for Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting.[3]

He spent 2014 with Burlington SC,[4] before playing college soccer in 2015 with the Niagara Purple Eagles.[5]

He has played senior football in Uruguay for Canadian SC and in Colombia for Deportivo Pereira.[1]

On 26 February 2019, Galvis signed with Canadian Premier League side Valour FC.[6]

International career

He was called up by the Candian senior team in June 2017.[2]

He was named to Canada's provisional 40-man roster for the 2017 Gold Cup, but was ultimately not called up for the tournament.[7]
