Nedunjeliyan I

Nedunjcheliyan I (c. 270 BCE) (Tamil: நெடுஞ்செழியன்) was a Pandya king who is credited by the Sangam Age work Maduraikkanci with having won a battle against the northern aryan army. Hence he is been given with the title Aariya Padai kadantha Nedunjezhiya Pandiyan (A Pandyan King, who defeated the Aryan intrusion). Nedunjcheliyan I was also the Pandya king of the epic Silappatikaram who later died of a broken heart along with his queen consort Kopperundevi.
