Narayan Seva Sansthan

Narayan Seva Sansthan, established in 1985, is a non-profit charitable organisation based in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is known for providing philanthropic services in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of polio affected people without discrimination of religion, region, caste, or gender.[1]

Aim of Narayan Seva Sansthan

The aim of Narayan Seva Sansthan is to create an inclusive society to give equal opportunities to differently-abled people. The organization works towards various initiatives to give chance to disabled people to excel in all walks of life. It also offers all kinds of rehabilitation to bring disabled people into the mainstream economy through vocational training programs.


History

Narayan Seva Sansthan was founded on 23 October 1985.[2] At present it runs 13 hospitals for polio patients, as well as an international hospital for treatment of disabled by birth, where disabled persons from every corner of the world are being treated for free. It also runs a home named 'Apna Ghar', where about 200 orphans, many deaf or disabled, reside. They take care of Apna Ghar children's education.[3]

Events

On 15 June 2014, it had organised a mass wedding event for disabled couples with polio. Held in the Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi, 92 couples were married, walking to the stage with there crotches visible!.[4] celebrated 25th Divyang Vivah in New Delhi by Narayan Seva Sansthan.[5]

Criticism

On 13 March 2013, a donation of 10,000 US dollars was stolen from an employee when he was bringing the secret donation amount from Mumbai to Udaipur via Las Vegas.[6]
