Early life

Namit hails from Delhi[3] and was born into a higher-class business family.[4][5] He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration from Kingston University London. He started his modelling career in 2004 and was listed as India's Top Super-Model.

"I achieved everything that a male model can achieve in our country. There was nothing more left for me to do apart from the same job. That’s what lead me to move on to bigger better things, but haven’t left modelling."

After modelling for almost a decade, he decided to retire. Acting opportunities kept coming his way and he began working on his acting skills. He joined a clowning group and did plays for underprivileged kids. He took a method acting course at the Jeff Goldberg Studio, Mumbai for a year. He appeared in a play called Six at the studio and he continued to audition.

“Modelling is more about carrying a certain attitude and walking on the ramp showcasing the clothes you wear. After doing that for many years, you get used to keeping your face expressionless. Then, when you suddenly take the plunge into acting, it becomes difficult to start emoting. But we all learn and over the years, may be, everyone improves. Being on stage made me realise the importance of truly being in the moment and letting the magic happen. I’m truly grateful for these experiences and hope to be able to do more theatre in the future.”

Career

Namit made his acting debut in 2017 with Vikram Bhatt's web series (Jio Cinema / VB on The Web) Twisted as Ranbir Raichand in a lead role opposite Nia Sharma.[6]

"It is a common belief that models can't act. I cannot take the responsibility for other models or their acting abilities. I can only speak for myself through my work. The audience is free to judge whether I can act or not. I am only going to work hard and do my best to entertain audience with my performance."
