Morfonica

Morfonica is a Japanese all-female rock band that is part of Bushiroad's media franchise BanG Dream!. Formed in 2020, the group's members portray fictional characters in the project's anime series and mobile game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! in addition to performing their characters' respective instruments in live concerts.

Morfonica consists of five first-year students at the prestigious Tsukinomori Girls' Academy.[1] Similar to Poppin'Party, Roselia, and Raise A Suilen, Morfonica's cast members perform their own music.[2]

History

Morfonica was founded on 1 March 2020 during the live streaming event BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! @HHW CiRCLE Live Broadcasting Pre-3rd Anniversary Special officially as the seventh band of the BanG-Dream! – Franchise presented and is the fourth group after Poppin'Party, Roselia and Raise A Suilen, who also play live concerts.[3] As a musician were singer Amane Shindo, guitarist Toko Kirigaya, bassist Yuka Nishia, violinist Ayasa and drummer mika presented.[4]

The band released their debut single Daylight on 27 May 2020 and was named Band of the Month by Tower Records.[5] The single debuted at first place on two of the Japanese singles chart, which by Oricon be determined.[6] In this case, this single sold just over 15,000 times within the first week.[7]

In-universe band

Within the BanG Dream! Universe, the group of five schoolchildren was founded who attend the first school year of the prestigious Tsukinomori girls' high school.[4]

On the occasion of the three-year existence of the mobile game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! the group was unlockable and playable for a short time.[4]
