History

Salford City moved to Moor Lane in 1978;[4] the stadium had been active for other sports many years prior to this date.

In October 2016, it was announced that the stadium would undergo renovation, which would see its capacity rise from 1,600 to 5,108, including 2,246 seats.[5] Planning permission was subsequently accepted on 15 December 2016.[5]

In 19 October 2017, the newly-renovated stadium was reopened by Sir Alex Ferguson, and it was revealed that the club had agreed a partnership with Peninsula Business Services as sponsors, and ground would be renamed as Peninsula Stadium.[6]

The record attendance at the ground is 4,518 on 13 August 2019, for a 3–0 loss to Leeds United in the EFL Cup first round.[2]

The stadium is served by bus routes 92 (on evenings) and 93 between Bury and Manchester, route 94 between Pilsworth and NMGH, route 95 between Bury and Salford Shopping Centre and nearby route 484 serving Eccles, Swinton, Pendlebury and Prestwich.
