Michel Sainte-Marie

Michel Sainte-Marie (August 18, 1938 – February 27, 2019) was a member of the National Assembly of France. He represented the Gironde department,[1] and was a member of the Socialist, radical, citizen and miscellaneous left (SRC) party.[2]

Early life

Former teacher of mathematics and physics-chemistry in high school, Michel Sainte-Marie was president of the Urban Community of Bordeaux from 1977 to 1983. He was the mayor of Mérignac from 1974 to 2014. During his various mandates, he accompanied the urban development of its city and the Bordeaux urban community2.

He was deputy from 1973 to 2012, of the 6th district of the Gironde. He was part of the Socialist Group and sits on the National Defense and Armed Forces National Assembly. He was also President of the France - Oman friendship group.
