Metronet (Western Australian government agency)
Metronet (styled METRONET) is multi-government agency in Western Australia. It is responsible for managing extensions to Perth's transport network. It was formed to deliver commitments made by the McGowan Government during the 2017 election campaign.[1][2][3][4]

Projects
Projects to be managed by Metronet are:
New railway lines
- Building the 8.5 kilometre Forrestfield-Airport Link with stations at Redcliffe, Airport Central and Forrestfield, construction underway, scheduled to open late 2021[5]
- Building the 21 kilometre Ellenbrook line with stations at Morley, Noranda, Malaga, Whiteman and Ellenbrook, with provision for a future station at Bennett Springs[6]
Railway line extensions
- Extending Armadale line services to Byford[7]
- Extending the Joondalup line for 14.5 kilometres with stations at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep[8]
- Extending Midland line services to Bellevue and relocating Midland station[9]
- Extending the Thornlie line for 14.5 kilometres from Thornlie to Cockburn Central on the Mandurah line with stations at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road[10]
- Building Lakelands station and Karnup station on the Mandurah line[11]
- Building a multi-storey car park at Mandurah station[12]
Level crossing replacements
- Replacing level crossings with grade separations at:[13]
- Wharf Street, Cannington
- Oats Street, Carlisle
- Denny Avenue, Kelmscott
- Caledonian Avenue, Maylands
Signalling
- Introducing high capacity signalling[14][15]
Rolling stock
- Introducing 41 six-car C-series trains.[16] In August 2019, it was announced Alstom Transport Australia would be the supplier for the 246 new railcars, each with the capacity to hold 1,200 passengers.[17] The tender mandated the railcars contained 50% locally manufactured content.[17]
