Mercedes-Benz OM699 engine
The Mercedes-Benz OM699 is a turbocharged inline-four diesel engine produced in collaboration with the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance. It is known as YS23 in Nissan vehicles, and as OM699 in Mercedes vehicles.

Design
The OM699 is based on the Renault M9T engine, but features an increased displacement of 2.3 litres (2,298 cc), a reduced compression ratio from 16.0:1 to 15.4:1, and changed cylinder head and pistons.[1] The DE23 LA reduced power units feature a single variable-geometry turbocharger, while the more powerful versions have twin-turbochargers.[2] The engines are compliant with the Euro 6 emission regulations.[3]
