Design

The OM699 is based on the Renault M9T engine, but features an increased displacement of 2.3 litres (2,298 cc), a reduced compression ratio from 16.0:1 to 15.4:1, and changed cylinder head and pistons.[1] The DE23 LA reduced power units feature a single variable-geometry turbocharger, while the more powerful versions have twin-turbochargers.[2] The engines are compliant with the Euro 6 emission regulations.[3]
