Mazda MX-30

The Mazda MX-30 is an electric compact crossover SUV produced by Mazda. Based on the CX-30, it was unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show[2] Production began at Ujina in May 2020.[3] It is Mazda's first mass-produced electric car.[4]

Not to be confused with Mazda MX-3.

It notably features clamshell doors, dubbed by Mazda as freestyle doors, as seen on their rotary sports car, the RX-8.[5][6]

The crossover is powered by an electric motor supported by a 35.5 kWh battery with an power output of 105 kW (141 hp; 143 PS) and 264 N⋅m (195 lbf⋅ft) torque, offering a range of 209 km (130 mi).[4] The MX-30 will go on sale in Japan in the second half of 2020.[7]

As for charging times, up to 80% charge can be achieved within 30 – 40 minutes via 50 kW DC charging. With an AC wall box (22 kW), the MX-30 is claimed to get fully recharged within 4.5 hours.[8]
