Mamadi Camara

Mamadi Camara (born February 25, 1995) is a Guinean-Canadian soccer player who currently plays as a forward for Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the USL Championship.

Career

College and Amateur

Camara played four seasons of college soccer at Simon Fraser University between 2015 and 2018, where he made 69 appearances, scoring 29 goals and tallying 20 assists.[1][2]

While at college, Camara played in the USL PDL with Vancouver TSS FC Rovers[3] and Calgary Foothills.[4]

Professional

MLS SuperDraft

On January 11, 2019, Camara was selected 46th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by San Jose Earthquakes.[5] However, he did not sign with the club.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks

On December 17, 2019, Camara joined USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks ahead of their 2020 season.[6]

Personal

Camara was born in Guinea, before moving to Montreal in Canada aged four-years old.[7]
