Major 2nd

Major 2nd (メジャーセカンド, Mejā sekando) is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda. It is a sequel of the original manga Major. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from March 2015.

Manga

Major 2nd is written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda. It started in the 2015 issue #15 of Weekly Shōnen Sunday published on March 11, 2015.[6] In November 2018, the series was put on hiatus,[7] and resumed its publication on April 24, 2019.[8]

Anime

An anime adaptation of Major 2nd was announced in the 47th issue of Weekly Shōnen Sunday in October 2017.[9] It aired from April 7 to September 22, 2018 on NHK Educational TV.[10] A second season premiered on April 4, 2020.[11] The main cast and staff are reprising their roles for the second season.[4] On April 25, 2020, it was announced that new episodes of second season would be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[12] On May 23, 2020, it was announced that the series would resume with its 5th episode of the second season on May 30.[13] On June 14, 2020, it was announced that it will be on hiatus again due to the same circumstances. Episode 8 will air on July 11, 2020.[14]

Crunchyroll aired the series with English subtitles.[15]

Reception

On April 4, 2018, it was announced that the Major 2nd manga had 5.6 million copies in print, for the first 13 volumes.[16]
