Background

Founded in 1964 as Lodge Park School, it was one of the very first wave of specialist schools designated in 1994 and was renamed Lodge Park Technology College.

In January 2013 Lodge Park became an Academy as partnership of the David Ross Education Trust and was officially opened by Lewis Hamilton.

Awards

The college has received a number of awards including Investor in People,[1] ArtsMark Gold,[2] the International Schools Award[3] and ICT Mark.

Principals

The principals of Lodge Park have been Neville Rumbelow, Richard Parker, Tom Waterworth, Guy Shearer, Toby Mullins, Alison Hayes BA, Darren Gadsby, Leo Gilbert and the current Executive Principal, Meena Wood.

Academic

Nearly 50% of the students at the academy achieved five GCSEs at A*-C including English and maths in 2013. At Key Stage 5 half of all exams sat achieved the top marks of A*-B (or equivalent) and nearly every exam sat was passed. This is a significant increase on previous years where 40% achieved the top grades in 2012, and 29% in 2011.

Sports

Lodge Park Academy dancers performed at the Aviva Rugby Premiership Final in 2013. Sports stars such as Christian Malcolm, Austin Healey, Ben Kay, Tom May and Lewis Hamilton have visited Lodge Park Academy. They have won the David Ross Education Trust Winter Cup two years In a row. First in 2014 and most currently in 2015. The academy is currently Northamptonshire Sports School of the year, Corby Sports School of the year and holds both the School Games Gold Kitemark and the YST Gold Quality Mark.
