The president with the longest retirement is Emilio Aguinaldo. He left office on March 23, 1901 and died 62 years and 320 days later on February 6, 1964. The president with the shortest retirement is Elpidio Quirino, who died on February 29, 1956, 2 years, 61 days after he left office on December 30, 1953.

To account for the different number of leap days within the life of each president, two measure of longevity are given. The first is the number of whole years the president lived, and the number of days past their last birthday. The second list the total number of days lived by the president, accounting for differing numbers of leap years within the lifespans of different presidents.

Two Philippine presidents have lived into their 90s. The first to do so, Emilio Aguinaldo, held the distinction of being the longest-lived president for more than 6 decades – 63 years, from 1901 until 1964. The two nonagenarian presidents (ordered by lifespan) are:

Oldest living Presidents of the Philippines

Not all presidents live to become the oldest of their time. Of the 11 deceased presidents, 3 eventually became the oldest of their time, while 8 did not (including all 3 presidents who died in office, and 5 others). Emilio Aguinaldo became the oldest living president when he started his office in 1899 and remained so until his death in 1964, for a record 65 years and 14 days.

Fidel Ramos was the oldest to acquire this distinction at the age of 69 years, and 34 days. Sergio Osmeña, who was 83 years, and 40 days old when he died, on October 19, 1961 was the oldest president to die without ever acquiring this distinction. Corazon Aquino, who died on August 1, 2009, at the age of 76 years and 188 days old is the most recent president to die without ever acquiring this distinction.
