Eiður Guðjohnsen is the joint all-time top scorer for the Iceland national football team (along with Kolbeinn Sigþórsson), with 26 goals in 88 appearances since his debut in 1996.

He became the nation's top scorer on 13 October 2007, with two goals in his 48th cap, a 2–4 home defeat to Latvia in UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying. The record was previously held by Ríkharður Jónsson since 1948, of 17 in 33 matches between 1947 and 1965.[1]
