List of Running Man cast members
The original members of Running Man are Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Gary, Haha, Lee Kwang-soo, and Song Joong-ki.[1] Song Ji-hyo was originally a guest for the second (episode 2-3) and third landmark (episode 4-5). She officially joined the program in the fourth landmark (episode 6) but was unable to attend until the fifth landmark (episode 7).[2] In April 2011, Song Joong-ki recorded his last episode (episode 41) in May, and has left the program to focus on his acting career but returned on episode 66 as a guest after leaving for almost half a year, and later made cameo appearances in several episodes.[3] Lizzy was initially a guest for episode 13 and episode 14, but later officially joined the program, starting episode 18. However, she has left the crew since episode 26 due to schedule conflicts with After School, the K-pop group she joined. She later makes a comeback as a guest in episode 292, after 5 years since her last appearance.[4][5] On October 25, 2016, Gary announced to be leaving the show to focus on his music career after being with Running Man for 6 years, but later returned as a guest, only a week after his final recording.[6] On April 3, 2017, it was confirmed through various media outlets that Running Man is adding actress Jeon So-min and comedian Yang Se-chan. The decision came after seeing their chemistry with the other members and their performances during their time as guests.[7] But in April 2020, Jeon So-min temporarily dropped out of the program due to health problems. [8]

Episode 1 – present | The main host of the show, who is known for his escaping abilities and quick thinking during race missions. As a main host, he has been featured as a protagonist in many special episodes, which presented him with a nickname of Yoo-mes Bond. Episode 1 – present | The primary joker of the cast and is usually picked on by other members because of his height and his similar appearance to Pororo the Little Penguin. In the earliest episodes of the program, Haha had a tendency to feel as though he is the main lead in a movie created by his imagination, as well as be the playboy of the cast, as he always confesses his love to female guests. When things don't go his way, he lashes out verbally, causing great laughter among the cast. However, this ended when he became engaged to singer Byul, changing to a "married man" and becoming very rough to female guests. He was one of the weakest player during the race missions, occasionally being picked on even while on the chasing team. Episode 1 – present | The oldest member of the show and one of Yoo Jae-suk's closest friends, having known each other for more than 20 years. He is shown to be jealous of the good relationship between Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Jong-kook. During the earlier episodes, he was known for framing his fellow members with embarrassing and often absurd rumors. The bravest and luckiest member of the show, who initially only appeared as a guest, but was added to the main cast in episode 6. During the earlier episodes, Song Ji-hyo was often known to swear during broadcasts especially towards Haha and Lee Kwang-soo. She is often seen with confused or blank facial expressions most of the time. Throughout the series, she has been involved in the official loveline of the show alongside Gary. She is one of the strongest players during race missions with similar running, catching capabilities and intelligence comparable to Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Jong-kook, though lacking in quiz missions. She is also known as the female version of Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Jong-kook which is noticed by Lee Kwang-soo on ep 177. She has a capability to hold steel objects on her body like a magnet. She is known as the female version of Lee Kwang-soo and Haha because of her betraying other members, cheating and becoming a moth which is the same with Lee Kwang-soo and Haha. So Min is considered the new player of the cast after taking on the role from Kwang Soo, often getting flustered around handsome male guests, though the other members frequently tease her by pairing her with Se Chan. She becomes scary when money gets involved. Her theme song is "Careless Whisper", by George Michael and "Tunak Tunak Tun", by Daler Mehndi. Her official colour is pink. The visual member of the show, who was introduced alongside Gary and Lee Kwang-soo as one of the "variety rookies" due to his lack of experience on variety shows prior to Running Man. He was known for his intelligence, enthusiasm and optimism, often trying out new things and attempting to figure out puzzles and strategize during the race missions; but often result in ultimate failure. Throughout the series, he and Ji-Hyo was known as the "Song-Song Siblings." As of episode 41, he left the cast to focus on his acting career.[3] However, he reappeared in episode 66 as a guest. The most gullible and honest member of the show, who was introduced alongside Lee Kwang-soo and Song Joong-ki as one of the "variety rookies" due to his lack of experience on variety shows prior to Running Man. Although shown to be quite clueless at times, he is known as "The man full of surprises" and the "dark horse" of Running Man during race missions, highlighted when the show held the Best of the Best Match with him winning the match twice in a row. He is also known to be easily irritated whenever the members, particularly Haha, called him a "squid" (as the byword for being ugly), which often leaves him depressed. Their chemistry have noticed earlier in Running Man until now. They have earned the nickname ''national siblings" due to their chemistry and funny bickering. They often bicker. These two are also known as ace, same with Jong Kook. On ep 142, they been paired up and Gary call them The Ace Couple. They also always win when get paired up for example on ep 454&455, they win and it was because of both are Ace and their great teamwork which led to high chance of success as always. They always tease each other. They are also perfectly in sync with each other and have strong and fantastic telepathy causing them to always choose the same thing and know what the other are thinking example on ep 418. On ep 346, the members were asked if the Earth will be destroyed and only them will be left, would you date them. Jaesuk answer 'no'. Jihyo then tease and said that she can seduce him with just one finger. Jaesuk confidently said it's impossible and Jihyo warned him to be careful. But even though he confidently said he won't fall for her, on ep 348&351, he still got seduced by her. They always take care of each other, like real siblings. |

The clue was "Easy", a combination of their surnames 이(Lee, pronounced ee) and 지(Ji). Whenever they are paired up, they are also known for performing their "Feel, Touch, Cross!" It was created when Ji Suk-jin was getting jealous of Lee Kwang-soo being close with Yoo Jae-suk, and calling themselves Lee-Yoo in Episode 81. Asking whether Lee Kwang-soo was with Easy or the new Lee-Yoo, Yoo Jae-suk replies "that is the reason" ("the reason" is "Lee-Yoo-Ji" in Korean), and Ji Suk-jin reluctantly joins them to become Lee-Yoo-Ji, which is their last names put together. Haha was soon added to the team as he also receives punishments together with them example ride a rollercoaster and sleep in a desert. Kwangsoo said he is actually one of them. They were the 4 unlukiest. |

This happened again in Episode 84 where Lee Kwang-soo and Kim Jong-kook were chosen by the opposing team to pair up together with paper handcuffs, leaving both of them stuck to each other for the rest of the episode. Before Yang Se-chan joined the show, Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Haha
and Lee Kwang-soo were known as the unlucky members. Now Yang Se-chan is also deemed unlucky and has joined the unlucky trio to form a group called "Unlucky Ones". Haha was no longer in the group as he joined another team which consists of 3 lucky members. They are also given the nickname "the ugly tribe" in Episode 346 when it was concluded that when the world comes to an end, the four males would be together. In episode 425, Yoo Jae-suk ironically called themselves F4, a reference to Boys Over Flowers where F4 was a group of 4 handsome flower boys. The F in their case could stand for the grade F instead of Flower. |

Moths (불나방) | In Episode 356, the members have to choose an exit to get a certain amount of money for the mission. In that episode, they call each other and talk about the mission. The moths which is Jaesuk, Sukjin, Haha, Kwangsoo, Sechan and Somin keep on telling each other that they are going to exit 8 since they are "moths drawn to flames". Only Jaesuk, Sukjin, Haha, Sechan and Somin arrived at exit 8. They keep on blaming each other on coming here. They split the money by 5 and each get 20 dollars (since the highest was 100 dollars). Even though Lee Kwang-soo goes to a different exit, he's still identified as one because of his betraying behaviour. Although the six of them are moths, tiger moths are more attracted to money than moths. The tiger moths are Haha, Kwangsoo and Somin which mentioned on ep 481. Whoever teams up with them gets tired. |

In Episode 372, when Lee Kwang-soo is choosing members to join Kim Jong-kook's team for a game, Ji Suk-jin suggests he add the "clumsy ones" to the team. Lee Kwang-soo adds him to the team and ends up adding Jeon So-min to the team as well deeming them both as "clumsy." This encourages other members to call them "Team Clumsy" and Yoo Jae-suk makes up a new nickname for them which is "Clumsy Jeon and Awkward Ji." When Jeon So-min first entered the show, she used to take care of Yoo Jae-suk and Ji Suk-jin because they were old. |

In earlier episodes, Haha and Song Ji-hyo used to be involved in a love triangle with Gary. However Haha gets married in 2012 and the love triangle between the three ends. Nowadays, Ji-hyo tends to pick Haha in couple races because she likes his charm and that results to them teaming up a lot. They're neighbors and both living in Mapo-gu which is where the name comes from. |

On ep 423, Haha stated based on their opening dressing style which is red, blue, green and yellow that they are teletubbies. On the starting of Running Man, they always split into mission and chasing teams. These four are always chosen and team up to be the mission team. After the format has changed, they often team up too with guest. They also often seen standing together during opening. |

The relationship of these three is that of friends with bad luck, notably failed the mission when being together as a team. It started when they failed the mission in Osaka (Episode 347 & 348), and in Mongolia (Episode 351-353) with Jihyo. They also notable for condemning to the hell of ramen which bringing them to mission failure, starting in Episode 390 in Okinawa, and in the End Year's Special (Episode 429-431). They are also recognized for their bad luck and persistence. Besides that, So min always complained being team up with these two as she said they are old and are very needy. Their team looks like 2 uncles and a niece. |

Yondu Siblings (연두 나매) | The relationship was formed during Ep 479 when Lee Kwang-soo and Jeon So-min both failed to get the highest number of candies. They face the penalty of selling bungeoppang while on Yondu make-up. In the end, they were given a chance to bring one more to do the penalty, thus Kim Jong-kook was added to the pack. So-min coined the term after they finished the penalty. |

The team was formed in Ep 501 when they had The 1st Running Man Quiz Strongest Person War. Ji Suk-jin called out Yang Se-chan, Haha, and with Yoo Jae-suk's help, Lee Kwang-soo, as the stupid trio because of their usual lacking performance during quiz segments. Haha, on the other hand, pointed Song Ji-hyo as their real captain. Despite Ji-hyo's quick wit and strength, which earned her the name 'Running Man's Ace', she is usually slow during quizzes. She's even dubbed as 'cavewoman' because it seems like she's outdated with the trends. |

Monday Couple (월요커플)[18] | The primary loveline of the show, they show interest in each other on Mondays, which is the day the show was filmed. The first mention of the term "Monday Couple" was in episode 12, although the relationship had been developing a few episodes prior. The relationship seemed one-sided until episode 16 when Ji-hyo told the cast that on Mondays she has a man, referring to Gary. Song Joong-ki would attempt to come between them on several occasions and many jokes were made from other cast members about Gary's appearance (the fact that compared to Joong-ki, he was far inferior). It became a major loveline after Song Joong-ki left the program.[9] (Later, the show was filmed on both Mondays and Tuesdays, leading to jokes about the couple not being in effect on Tuesdays.). |

At the beginning of Running Man history, there exist a love triangle between to Monday Couple and Haha. It has been shown on earlier episodes like 20 and 43 how Haha and Gary compete over Song Ji Hyo. During Song Ji-hyo's week (episode 333), Haha even jokingly apologized for marrying his wife Byul and said that he could have won her love. |

A twist on the name of the former Korean band Seo Taiji and Boys (서태지와 아이들). In earlier episodes, Gary and Haha were often found in the same team, and were usually under the control of the domineering Kim Jong-kook. Thus, they are often shown as being afraid of Kim Jong-kook. Lizzy later joined the team at episode 20 to form "Kim Jong-kook and the Three Kids". These three always chosen and team up to be chasing team. After the format changed, they often team up with guest too. They also often seen standing together during opening. |
