Herbert A. Derfelt Elementary School Southwest Opened in 1991. Dr. Herbert Derfelt began teaching in 1925 in a one-room school house in Kansas. He taught for many years, and was elected to County Superintendent in 1941. During his career, he taught at numerous colleges, including Kansas, University of Arkansas, Colorado and Nevada (Reno). He moved to Las Vegas in 1956 and joined the University of Nevada. Dr. Derfelt started the practice teaching program and also started the first master's degree program for teachers at UNLV. He became Professor Emeritus after retiring from the University in 1972. In his lifetime Dr. Herbert Derfelt influenced, instructed and inspired many.

P.A. Diskin Elementary School Southwest 9 Month Opened in 1974.
Kenneth Divich Elementary School Opened in 2018. The school was named for long time Las Vegas educator and civic leader Kenneth Divich and honors his commitment to students, especially those who were the most difficult to help. Mr. Divich was a coach, teacher and counselor primarily at Rancho High School in North Las Vegas but also worked at other schools for at-risk or delinquent students. He concluded his career at Jean Prison in Nevada where he assisted inmates in taking classes and obtaining their GEDs. In 2019, Divich Elementary received a prestigious '5 Star' rating from the Clark County School District. Divich students are "Divich Knights" and the motto is "Lead. Persevere. Succeed."

C.V.T. Gilbert Magnet School of Communication and Creative Arts Superintendent School - Northwest Opened in 1966. Magnet. One of the only magnet schools to feature a television studio and a professional theater. Curriculum revolves around the fine arts and performance.
Linda Rankin Givens Elementary School Northwest 9 month Opened in 2004 in the Vistas in Summerlin. The third two-story elementary built in Las Vegas.
Daniel Goldfarb Elementary School East Opened in 1997.
Goodsprings Elementary School Occupies the Goodsprings Schoolhouse which opened in 1913. It may be the oldest and smallest school in Nevada; as of 2008 there were only six enrolled students.[5] Shares a principal with Sandy Valley Elementary Schools and Indian Springs Elementary School.

Frank Lamping Elementary School Opened in 1998. School has an observatory. McCool science center in honor or the astronaut Willie McCool who died in the Columbia accident opened in October, 2005. His parents live in Vegas and were involved in the effort to get this center built in his honor.

B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies Southeast Opened in 1983 as a “B. Mahlon Brown Junior High School.” Was expanded in 2000, adding a 300 wing.
Lyal Burkholder Middle School Southeast Formerly Basic High School from 1954 to 1972. The original campus was closed in 2004 for demolition and reconstruction (the original gymnasium was renovated and converted to a student activity center/cafeteria). The rebuilt campus opened in August 2007.

Clifford O. Findlay Middle School Northeast Mascot is the flyers. Named after Cliffored O. (Pete) Findlay, a fourth-generation Nevadan known for his automotive franchise in the Las Vegas area and support for the education system. Findlay also served as a fighter pilot during World War II in the South Pacific.

Roy Martin Middle School East Magnet-Opened in 1959 as one of the first middle schools in Las Vegas. The school is named after the first doctor licensed in Las Vegas in the 1920s. The school mascot is the Colts. On July 5, 2005 the school experienced a major fire that started in, and destroyed, the gym area. A two-story replacement campus was built on an adjoining lot and opened in August 2008. Martin MS is also home of the IB Middle Years Programme, the only middle school of this kind in Nevada.
Bob Miller Middle School Southeast Opened in 1999 Named after Bob Miller, former governor of Nevada (1989–1999). This school has the 2007 and 2009 Teacher of the Year for Nevada.

Rancho High School Northeast Rams Opened in 1954 in Las Vegas as the third high school in the Las Vegas Valley, and later was annexed into North Las Vegas, making it the first high school in the city. Magnet school, home to Rancho Academy of Aerospace and Medicine. Rancho High School was rebuilt on the south end of the school grounds (atop the original football field).
