Liotyphlops

Liotyphlops is a genus of blind snakes found in Central and South America. Currently, 9 species are recognized.[2][3]

Geographic range

Found in Central and South America from Costa Rica to Paraguay.[1]

In the 21st century three additional new species have been described.[3]

  • Liotyphlops caissara Centeno, Sawaya & Germano, 2010
  • Liotyphlops haadi Silva-Haad, Franco & Maldonado, 2008
  • Liotyphlops trefauti Freire, Caramasche & Suzart Argôlo, 2007

Nota bene: A taxon author in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Liotyphlops.
