Liew Kit Kong

Liew Kit Kong (Chinese: 廖吉光; pinyin: Liao Jiguang; born 6 January 1979) is a Malaysian footballer who last played as a striker for PKNS F.C.. He was also a former member of the Malaysian national team.

He won the favourite striker award for the 2007-08 FAM Football Awards ahead of two other nominees Mohd Safee Mohd Sali and Mohd Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak, despite playing for the second division of Malaysian league, the Malaysia Premier League. In that season, he had become the top local goal scorer in the Premier League with 16 goals.[1]

Kit Kong has represented the national side since 2002. He was part of a Malaysia match against Brazil and played in the 2004 Tiger Cup where he score double against Indonesia during the semi final match which Malaysia eventually lost 5-3.[2]

2005 ISLAMIC Countries Olympics was Kit Kong's last appearance with the national side. For 2008, he was called up by B. Sathianathan for the national team training session for a friendly match against Indonesia on 6 June 2008. He, however, was not chosen for the friendly match.

Kit Kong was born in Perak and is of mixed Chinese and Indian heritage refers as Chindian.
