Leinster Senior College caters for full-time and part-time students (including mature students), with a syllabus extending to 21 Leaving Cert exam subjects.[4] The college, a grind school, is exam-focused with continuous tests throughout the year (known as mocks) in preparation for the Leaving Certificate Examination.

LSC offers dedicated career guidance counselling to its enrolled students, aiding them in navigating the CAO and UCAS third-level application process. Many of the school's sixth year and repeat students apply to study medicine, and the school offers timetabled classes in preparation for the Health Professions Admissions Test (HPAT) in the Republic of Ireland and the equivalents in the United Kingdom. Uniforms are not worn and the school aims to help its students with the transition from second level into third level education. Class sizes are small, the college serves the catchment area of the surrounding counties; Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow, Laois, Carlow, and Offaly, and only a limited number of places are available for each academic year.[1][2]

The college was established in 2002 by Pat Phipps,[5] a businessman who was the finance director of a large multinational company and who later became the principal of Bruce College, Dublin.[6]

Fees are approximately €7,490 per student for an academic year, or circa €200 per week.[3] The school is privately funded and is owned by Donal Morrissey and Mairead Morrissey of Limerick.[7]

The current principal is Karl Hegarty.
