Language (MNEK album)

Language[1][2][3] is the debut studio album by British singer-songwriter and record producer MNEK. It was released on 7 September 2018 through Virgin EMI Records[4] and became his second solo project, succeeding his debut extended play Small Talk, released in 2015, and his extensive amount of contributions with other recording artists, ranging from the likes of Madonna[5] and Beyoncé[6] to Jax Jones,[7] Christina Aguilera[8] and Little Mix.[9]

Language was received well by critics, with NME awarded Language four stars,[10] as did The Line of Best Fit.[11] Despite positive critic reaction, the album only achieved 144 pure album sales in its first week.[12] and MNEK was vocal about his disappointment with the record's commercial success on social media.

Singles from Language include "Tongue", "Colour", "Correct" and "Girlfriend". The album's release was followed by a short UK tour in 2018 and an American leg in 2019.
